Roger Clemens strikeouts 20 batters a second time

On September 18, 1996 — At Tiger Stadium, Roger Clemens, in his final victory, wearing a Red Sox uniform, ties his own record for strikeouts in a game when he strikes out 20 batters in a nine-inning game, going the distance in the team’s 4-0 victory in Detroit. He gave up no walks and 4 hits, baffling the Tigers all night. Travis Fryman went down 4 times and future Player Rep Tony Clark went down 3 times.

the Tigers had 4 man reach second, 2 on steals, 1 on a Wild Pitch, and no one reach 3rd base.

The ā€˜Rocket’ first achieved the feat a decade earlier on April 29th 1986, against the Mariners.
