April 14, 2002, At the ball park in Arlington vs the Texas Rangers in his only major league game facing Kenny Rogers Seattle Mariner Ron Wright had three at-bats which included a strikeout (second inning), a 1-6*-2-5-1*-4* triple play (fourth inning), and a double play (sixth inning) for possibly the worst-ever major-league career.

Wright was the DH and was pinch hit after his 3rd at bat during the 9-7 Seattle win.

This is tied for the fewest number of plate appearances for anyone who has ever grounded into a triple play; pitcher Larry Hesterfer hit into one, also in his only big league game, with the 1901 New York Giants, while Tom Cotter of the 1891 Boston Reds had one in 6 games and 12 at bats.
