On November 9, 1937 — St. Louis Cardinals Triple Crown winner Joe Medwick is named National League Most Valuable Player by the Baseball Writers Association of America.
That magical season of 1937, when he led in hits, doubles, home runs, batting average, slugging percentage, on-base plus slugging, runs scored, and runs batted in. As of 2019, Medwick is the last player to win the triple crown in the National League.
