On June 20, 1890, Cumberland Posey is born in Homestead, PA. First as a player and then later as manager and team owner, for 35 years Posey was the driving force behind the Homestead Grays, one of the most successful teams in Negro league history. He will later duplicate this batting feat twice, hitting a pair of homers on August 6‚ 1891‚ and on June 12‚ 1896‚ making him the first pitcher to achieve this.
