George Sisler has three hits to keep his hitting streak alive, as the Browns keep pace with New York, winners in 10 innings against Washington.

Charlie Robertson, in only his fourth career start, becomes the third modern pitcher to throw a perfect no-hit, no-run game when he beats the Tigers at Navin Field, 2-0. The White Sox hurler, thanks to Johnny Mostil’s two outstanding catches in the outfield, is also the fourth rookie to throw a no-hitter.
Ken Williams hits 6 homers in four days on way to becoming first 30-30 man
1922 – Judge Kenesaw Landis cracks down on phony player deals. He fines the Cards and Tigers $150 each, and three minor league clubs a total of $1,400 for violating waiver rules. In March, he will assess the Giants $1,764 for the improper transfer of a player.
At the age of 34, Ty Cobb becomes the youngest player to collect 3000 hits when he singles off of Red Sox hurler Elmer Myers. The ‘Georgia Peach’ will end his career with 4,191 hits, the most ever in the major leagues until Pete Rose surpasses the mark in 1985.
