In front of a record crowd of 23,864 fans at Ruppert Stadium, Lou Gehrig plays his last game in a Yankee uniform when he participates in an exhibition contest against the Kansas City Blues (AA), the team’s American Association farm club. The ‘Iron Horse’, playing only three innings and batting eighth, grounds out weakly to second base in his only at-bat.
6/12/1934: Babe Ruth homered at Yankee Stadium off Bobo Newsom of the St. Louis Browns. The drive came in the fourth inning to start the scoring for the home team. After the frame, the Yankees led, 3-1, but rain washed out the remainder of the contest. This would have been Ruth’s tenth home run of the season.
1928 – Lou Gehrig of the New York Yankees collects 14 total bases with two triples and two home runs in a 15 – 7 victory over the Chicago White Sox.

1922 – Hub Pruett of the St. Louis Browns strikes out Babe Ruth three consecutive times as St. Louis beat the New York Yankees, 7 – 1.
Eight different Highlanders commit a total of eleven errors en route to a 16-4 loss to Detroit. Shortstop Kid Elberfeld commits four of the fielding miscues in the contest played in New York’s American League Park.
