On May 10, 1989 — At Wrigley Field the Chicago Cubs lose to the San Francisco Giants, 4 – 3 when a rally falls short. Jerome Walton is tagged for the last out as he is crawling to 3B. Walton injures his hamstring on the play and will miss a month, then come back to win the Rookie of the Year Award.

Walton had walked with two outs and took third on Domingo Ramos single, off Craig Lefferts but was tagged out by Charlie Hayes.  The next batter due up was the future Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg.
