October 22, 1953 – Lou Perini (pictured here with Al Schacht, “The Clown Prince of Baseball,” and Billy Southworth) announced that the Braves had earned a profit of more than one million dollars in their first year in Milwaukee, which more than covered Perini’s total losses in the Braves’ last three seasons in Boston.
