A costly eighth inning base-running blunder by Nick Punto ends Minnesota’s hopes of a comeback,  Solo home runs by Alex Rodriguez and Jorge Posada off Carl Pavano in the 7th are the deciding blows. Andy Pettitte wins the 15th postseason game of his career, tying John Smoltz for the most ever. Rodriguez, goes 5-for-11 with two homers and six RBIs in the three-game division series sweep.
