On November 30, 1961 — The White Sox trade pitchers Don Larsen and Billy Pierce to the Giants for pitchers Eddie Fisher, Dom Zanni, Verle Tiefenthaler and first baseman Bob Farley.

Pierce The Chicago White Sox franchise pitching great, In 13 years with the White Sox (1949-1961), he had 186 wins, 1796 strikeouts, 35 shutouts, 3.19 ERA, and was a 7X All-Star. In his first season with the Giants in 1962, he goes 16-6 and finishes 3rd in the Cy Young Award voting.
