On August 19, 1921, in the second game of a doubleheader, Tiger player/manager Ty Cobb bangs out a single for his 3,000th career base hit. The milestone hit comes off Bostonā€™s Elmer Myers at Navin Field in Detroit. At 34 years old, Cobb is the youngest man to reach the 3,000-hit mark.
