Detroit chases Rube Waddell in the first inning, then they nearly toss the game away. Trailing 6-5 in the bottom of the 9th, Cobb ties the game with a single and scores the winning run on a controversial call on Claude Rossmanā€™s triple. The Browns argued unsuccessfully it should have been a ground-rule double.
