On August 20, 1961 — At Cleveland’s Municipal Stadium, both Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris homer in the twin bill sweep. Mantle’s 1st-inning three-run homer, and Maris’s in the 3rd inning, make it easy for Ralph Terry. In the nightcap, Bill Skowron hits his 21st in the 2nd inning and the Yanks win, 5 – 2.
