Ashburn was the only Phillies runner to reach base, depriving Braves ace Warren Spahn of a perfect game. The Braves won by a score of 5-0 Spain’s 31st career shutout.
Pendleton also collected 2 hits and Eddie Mathews swatted his 33rd Homerun of the season for the Braves.
